Dr. Yahia A. Rahman-
Resident Shari’aa Supervisor & Author of LARIBA
LARIBA Financing represents a new movement in America that provides an
alternative to the current Riba system. LARIBA Financing is a Socially
Responsible Asset Based financing approach that requires a tangible asset
&/or service to be financed. The return on financing is not based
on interest rates (the rent on money) but on the Utility Value of the
asset/service to be financed as reflected by the rent/lease rate that
the asset commands in the market.
As a Resident Shari’aa Advisor, I pledge to the following, to the
best of my abilities:
Prompt personal attention to any of your questions and concerns regarding
the position of Shari’aa scholars on the subject as well as any
complaints about any one at LARIBA including me. My number can be obtained
from your finance officer.
The highest ethical and professional standards amongst our staff. Any
complaints or concerns about any of us should be directed to me. LARIBA
Staff prides itself on being Muslims first. LARIBA simply aims to REMOVE
Riba from peoples’ lives.
The company is a viable company and the American Muslim Community fully
finances its capital.
The Model used is according to the guidelines described by a number of
Fatwas provided by some of the most senior and highest placed scholars
in Islamic banking and financing:
The Model Was developed by LARIBA jointly with a highly placed scholar
from Pakistan when we financed the home of his cousin in California.
The Fatwas were documented and detailed in Al-Baraka seminars. The committee
of scholars in the seminar included the following eminent sheikhs/scholars:
- Sheikh Abdul Hamid Al-Sa’ih, chairman
- Dr. Abdul-Sattar Abu-Ghuddah, assistant-secretary.
- Dr. Muhammad Al-Mukhtar Al-Salami
- Dr. Sami Homoud, secretary
